Christine Roberts

Clinical Pilates Practitioner training (DMA Levels 1-3)

Post-Graduate Diploma in Manipulative Therapy.

 

Commenced at Tooronga Physiotherapy in 1996, after completing the Manipulative Physiotherapy post grad training, taking ownership in 1998. Prior experience was gained in country Victoria, overseas, and with outpatient and sports medicine clinics in Melbourne.  She is also a Clinical Pilates Practitioner  and has been taking classes since they commenced.

 

Chris specialises in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, and advocates the benefits  that are achieved by integrating this with Clinical Pilates . This combination of core stability and postural awareness, focuses on your weak areas, and targets the strengthening and rehabilitation required to optimise musculoskeletal health and improve your return to activity.

 

Chris has further expertise in treating shoulders with rotator cuff problems, frozen shoulder, or adhesive capsulitis, after hydrodilitation, and with exercise management for osteo-arthritis of the knee, gained from involvement in several clinical trials with Monash and Melbourne Universities, as a clinical physiotherapist.  She was excited to be involved in a world first clinical trial, looking at the application of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) by physiotherapists, or Pain Coping Skills, in management of chronic pain, in osteoarthritis of the knee, run by a team at Melbourne University

 

Chris also has expertise in treating BPPV, Benign Positional Postural Vertigo.

This often presents as short spells of dizziness and spinning which is most common when you change position, may happen many times a day, but may only last for a few seconds. If you have these types of symptoms contact us to see if we can help.

 

Recent passions are travel, and photography, and she loves spending time with her dog Zac
