COVID-19 UPDATE

The outbreak of the Coronavirus has shocked the world. It is a difficult time for everyone.

We are taking the necessary precautions as guided by the Australian Physiotherapy Association and the World Health Organisation.

As part of our normal hygiene procedures all equipment is cleaned before and after each client. This process is also carried out thoroughly at the beginning and end of each day also. In addition, I throughly wash my hands before and after each client. I use antibacterial hand wipes as an additional precaution.

If you have travelled to or near the Category 1 areas or have flu like symptoms please please self quarantine for at least two weeks. There is a website called Smart Traveller that is informative, please use this if you know more information on travel precautions https://www.smartraveller.gov.au/

If you have an appointment booked and can't make it please just let me know and we can reschedule. I'd like to be do my bit to support each other through this difficult time and treat my patients as normal for as long as I can, I will continue to take guidance from the Australian Physiotherapy Association and the World Health Organisation. This can be a stressful time which can cause physical stress, at least I can minimise that for people.

For anyone who wants to know more about how to protect yourself the World Health Organisation is publishing helpful and factual information on a regularly basis. Here is one video on how to protect yourself https://youtu.be/1APwq1df6Mw

I hope we do all we can to be kind to each other and look out for the more vulnerable in our neighbourhood during this difficult time.

To accommodate this current climate Tooronga Physiotherapy is offering new services;

  • Virtual Ergonomic Assessments
For all of you working at home lets make sure you have a good work situation. As per the government advice, working from home may continue for a long time, let's try minimise occupational injuries.

Common Occupational Injuries are repetitive strains, shoulder, neck and back issues.
We will maximise use of the equipment you have and give advice on inexpensive equipment that may be beneficial to you. We can also order these for you and get them delivered to you.
  • Virtual Assessments/Consults
For those who are anxious about leaving your home despite being in pain, please do not hesitate to get in contact with us.
We have done both phone and video consultations at this stage and have received great feedback from them. People have gained big relief with their presenting complaint. These can be done through standard phone call, FaceTime and WhatsApp
  • Clinical Rehabilitation/Pilates Video Consults
These can be done one to one or in groups of three, maximum. It is a great way to keep active and fit while still maintaining social distancing.
It is very important that strength, mobility and independence is not lost at this time.
These sessions have been running very well and allow people to have some fun at this difficult time.

**Please note that these services are redeemable on private health insurance.**
